This man right here. There’s so much I could say about Jamey Heath, but if you’ve ever had the honor of meeting him, you already know—he’s bigger than words. Jamey has seen me at my lowest. It is over 1400 years old and known as a ‘Sunnah’ in the Islamic faith, which means the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to eat it. RECIPE This recipe makes one bowl of Talbina. Double the servings for two people and so on. INGREDIENTS 2-3 tablespoons barley flour 250ml milk (you can use any milk, I am using whole milk) 1-2 teaspoons of honey (to taste) To garnish: 1-3 Palestinian Medjool dates & a handful of almond flakes METHOD 1. Add barley flour and milk to a sauce pan (make sure it is one with non stick coating intact or you will burn it) 2. Put on a medium heat 3. Stir continuously until the mixture thickens (I like to use a whisk) 4. Once the mixture has thickened, remove from heat. 5. Add 1-2 teaspoons of honey to sweeten 6. Mix (I like to then use a whisk) 7. Pour into a bowl 8. Chop dates into thirds 9.
