Details on this amazing spot- It’s called Lula Lake Land Trust, and it’s only open to the public on its ’Open Gate Days’. From December-April, these are only on the first and last Saturdays of each month, plus a few other special days you can find listed on their website. From May-November, open gate days are first and last weekends. You MUST reserve a spot on their open gate days. It’s around $16 per normal sized vehicle and 4 people are assumed per car. They will have someone there confirming your reservation and giving you info on the place as well. This is probably the most beautiful hike in all of Georgia, and it’s highly worth the visit! It’s got miles of trails from moderate to difficult, a massive waterfall, tons of small cascades, a blue and clear water river, the beautiful spot shown in the video above, beautiful visits where you can see for miles, and more. It’s also one of the cleanest and most well-kept nature parks I’ve ever been to, and that’s no accident. Lula Lake Land Trust is a non-profit that works tirelessly to preserve large parts of Lookout Mountain and they do it well. If these types of ideas could spread by people who have the means and care enough, it would solve a lot of problems and present a lot of solutions. First, how to make sure these types of places get preserved for all to enjoy, instead of developed by greedy corporations, while also keeping them from being destroyed by too much traffic and human impact. There’s the extreme limit of days opened, and a limit of 100 cars per day, and I think that’s amazing! You’ll notice the positives of this when you visit too. 👏 Address- 5000 Lula Lake Road, Lookout Mountain, GA 30750 It’s less than 2 hours from Atlanta and only 20+ minutes from Chattanooga. **Don’t forget to RESERVE a spot on an open gate day.
