The statement came in response to an article by The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg reporting he had been added to a group chat with top officials and was unsure if it was authentic. Goldberg reported that he exited the group after he personally concluded it was “almost certainly real.” NBC News' Courtney Kube explains the story to Katy Tur.
