UGH I hated this because I’m normally always very good at advocating for myself and this tripped me up. I’m always very accommodating and respectful of people with dog allergies if someone tellls me they are allergic to dogs, we do our best to not go near them…. However this was different. This lady who was on the other side of the LARGE bingo room we where in walked over to us THREE TIMES to complain to me about Jake. She didn’t even know he was In the room for the first three hours untill we got up during intermission to stretch. This was frustrating. Just like the friendly passerby said (who I did thank and came over and talked with us after) if she was really allergic to dogs she wouldn’t have kept coming over to us. please let people with service animals be. #servicedog #dog #DogTraining #dogs #disabled #fyp #foryoupage

This was WILD! I was trying to be nice and answer all the questions even though Jake was tasking and alerting me, and my brain was trying to focus on not dying while trying to respond to this guy!! this little boys parents where way down the isle and he was wandering this busy convention we where at pretty much alone! I think it’s important to teach all children and adults that you should always ask to pet any dog you come across. Just having a conversation with my dad while we where at the grocery store when suddenly he points out a WORKER who was backing up towards us with his hands out low to the ground not saying anything but reaching out slowly to try and pet Jake. I don’t know how it’s not common sense by now to ASK before trying to pet ANY dog, and also not getting offended when and if someone says no!
