🇸🇪🤟LET ME COOK… okay so I started going to the gym consistently in August 2024 (around 7 months ago) in order to deal with a couple skateboarding and work-related injuries in my wrist, elbow, ankles and knees. Safe to say I am now officially stronger than ever and feel like a damn superhero! Alongside consistent training, I started measuring my food intake and macros, making sure to eat enough, as well as sleeping at least 8 hours a night. This was one of my biggest flaws when skateboarding, as I would skate for over 8 hours without proper hydration and nutrition. This resulted in my muscles being starved and thus my ligaments and joints taking a beating. After making sure to eat enough calories and protein each day, I very quickly went up about 10kg (most lean muscle mass) and now I’m the strongest I’ve ever been. Small things like carrying groceries home or bad posture are now things of the past. During the process of my winter arc, I have also fallen in love with the science of the human body. Every day I learn something new about myself and my body that helps me grow stronger and stay safe in my everyday life. There is no one-size-fits all recipe for everyone. Life is a long trial-and-error process of learning more about your own body. For example, I learned that some of my ankle pain was caused due to instability and tightness in certain of my calf muscles. Some of my wrist pain was caused by poor blood circulation in my hands due to a high caffeine intake and stagnant work-posture spent in front of a PC all day editing. Pretty much all my workouts consist of heavy weightlifting with a focus on building muscle mass. Since I am genetically very skinny and lean, I also incorporate tons of mobility exercises and stretching in order to preserve my mobility and healthy joints. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store, hopefully I will be able to swim, bike and skate with plenty more power this summer! Also look forward to making new friends and trying new ways to work out! Lastly, a final lesson learned was to be proud of oneself no matter what, and not give a damn what anyone else thinks. Xoxo, Tim #gymarc #Fitness #winterarc
