I also thought these would be an excellent candidate for a wholesale order from a crystal shop, but without a large inventory of them built up, that isn’t possible just yet. For now I think that just having them in a listing sounds like a great solution to my dislike of material waste. #pottery #ceramics #crystals #crystaltok #witchtok
Maybe it’s because I’m a potter that I frogged this piece without batting an eye. I’ve recycled dozens of mugs because they just didn’t pass my standards test to make it into the kiln, and I approach knitting the same way. I had a lot of rational reasons for frogging, and would rather use my materials to their highest potential than finish a project I know I can make better. Yeah, it is a bit of a bummer to start over on all that cabling, but at least me being in a knitting mood means I’ve been in the mood to make more yarn bowls. I’ll call that a win. #pottery #knitting #crochet #yarnbowl #ceramics
Replying to @autumnburian With the right green glaze, and some white gold luster on the rune, I think this design has a lot of potential! What do you guys think? #hobbitcore #knitting #crochet #yarnbowl
Urn making is always a very meaningful experience, but making one for a loved one is even more significant. I want to get it just right, and I hope what I create is something she would have loved. #pottery #ceramics #urn #crystals
I wonder if having a yarn bowl on cauldron feet would make it too tippy?🤔I can certainly explore testing that out later, but for now I wanted to get one flat bottomed bowl done up with a kraken theme. I love it so far! #yarnbowls #ceramics #pottery #knitting #crochet
Hi folks. I will be closing my shop until some time in the beginning of the new year. I tend to keep personal details about my life private, as I always want to maintain a professional presence here on the internet. However, in sharing this information, I think it might help folks understand my absence, and hopefully be met with grace and understanding. Last night my mother passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was 71. Over the years there have been a few times we thought the end was near, and I flew out last minute to say goodbye. Yesterday I booked another flight to be by her side as her condition took a turn, but I was too late this time. Because of the circumstances of my mom’s wishes for her celebration of life, I will not be going home now until some time in January. I plan to spend time in December and the beginning of January going through our family photos and videos, and creating a video to play at her celebration of life. This is going to be a difficult task, but I have the support of family while I undertake it. In the future, I would love to share a little bit more about my mom. She was a really special lady, and I am so lucky that she was my mom. I appreciate everyone understanding where I am at this point in my life, and granting me grace in this time. I will keep everyone included when I start to feel ready to make things again, and when I am ready to do a real restock again. I appreciate you all so very much. — Danielle
The Practical Magic-inspired item that no one asked for, but I’m making anyway 🩵 I really like how these look so far, and can’t wait to get them in the kiln. As for the mugs, I’m sure if I use my wet boxes (aka my tote boxes Tote-um O’Neill and Channing Tote-um) that should help with cracks. But having noticed that if I turn my back, my pottery is too dry, it’s best to be super careful. #pottery #practicalmagic #knitting #crochet
I also thought I would add gold luster to these, but after sitting down today to outline the constellations, halfway through the first constellation, I decided to let them be as they are. Part of being a good artist is listening to your intuition, and mine told me to let these speak for themselves as-is. Despite that decision though, I think these are pretty cute, and hope you all like them too! #pottery #ceramics #waxwarmer #ceramicwaxburner #zodiac #giftideas
A fun project to get me back into sewing. My next project involves some wool scraps from my favorite secondhand crafting shop, which I plan to turn into a coat or vest. #upcycling #crochet #sewing
Replying to @Raised By Bats 🦇 The highly requested Ever After-inspired yarn bowl! I miss making these mugs. I think the slight change will barely change the feel of the mug, but I think I’ll feel better sending this design out knowing that my “crystals” aren’t going anywhere. #pottery #ceramics #everafter #danielledebarbarac #yarnbowl
I recently decided to start making things with the Rider Waite 22 major arcana, featuring Pamela Colman Smith’s public domain art on them. My plan is to donate a portion of the sale from these suncatchers to Alzheimer’s research in honor of my beautiful, free spirited, thoughtful and sweet mom Anita. She loved knowing that her gift to me led me down the path to my art, and I think she would love that I’m sharing this story with everyone. (I have a small batch of these made, and will make them in more colors going forward. When I do my next restock, these will be in it.) #pottery #tarot #witchtok #ceramics
