A heartwarming video from South Africa has gone viral on Instagram, showcasing the dedication of Free Me Wildlife Midlands Centre in rescuing orphaned animals. One of their team members dressed as a bird to help a baby wattled crane, teaching it how to drink by mimicking the behavior of a bird mother. Using a fake beak dipped into a pond, the rescuer encouraged the chick to follow their lead, a critical step in preparing it for life in the wild. The baby wattled crane, just 2.5 months old, was rescued with a broken leg and is one of the rarest bird species in the region. This creative and compassionate approach highlights the centre's incredible efforts to save endangered wildlife and provide these vulnerable creatures with a second chance at survival. A China-based cosmetics brand registered in Malaysia is under investigation by the Health Ministry (MOH) for advertising its facial peeling solution as edible, reported the New Straits Times. Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the brand’s marketing may have violated Malaysian law, prompting the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) to issue a notice demanding an explanation by 14 February. If the company fails to comply, its licence could be revoked. An ad seen by SAYS showed a Malaysian woman putting the red solution in her mouth, claiming it gives “glass-like skin”. The ad has since been removed. Dr Dzulkefly called the ads misleading and a health risk. The use of white coats in the ads, implying professional endorsements, also violated the Guidelines for Cosmetic Advertisement.
