I was feeding my buttons during my morning routine and noticed a little green egg on the ground, so lucky that I didn’t end up stepping on it and that I found it to begin with! I had no idea how long it’d been there for or if it was even fertile. I usually don’t believe in things being “meant to be”, but this was too coincidental of a situation! I had 39 button quail eggs due to hatch a few days after Lucky hatched, and out of all those eggs only a single chick hatched! This was lucky for Lucky because he’s no longer alone anymore🥹. Update to the button quail rescue I did back in February! I’m sorry it took so long to update you guys, but in all honestly I didn’t think the female was going to make it for a couple months. The infection traveled up her leg and she was doing bad for a bit, with a lot of love and vet care, she pulled through 💙🙌. Yesterday marked the day she laid her first egg, which means she’s a happy girl again 😭.
