turmeric nourishing rice for the gut & soul! 🌈🧈 🌞 chicken sausage & kale edition 🌞 ingredients ~ 🧅 1 onion, diced 🧄 3 cloves garlic, minced 🧈 2 tbsp butter (or more hehe) 🫒 splash of olive oil 🥕 4 carrots, chopped 🌿 4 celery stalks, chopped 🍚 2 cups uncooked white rice, rinsed 🌞 6 cups chicken bone broth 🌻 1 pack pre-cooked chicken sausage, sliced 💛 1.5 tsp turmeric powder 🐚 1 tsp black pepper 🧂 1 tsp sea salt or more to taste 🧄 1 tsp garlic powder 🥬 3 large handfuls kale, chopped 🌱 handful of fresh parsley, chopped instructions ~ 1. melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. cook onion and garlic until fragrant, but not browned. 2. add carrots and celery, cook for 5 minutes. 3. stir in rice, turmeric, black pepper, sea salt, and garlic powder. 4. pour in chicken bone broth and sliced sausage, bring to a boil. 5. reduce to a simmer and cook for about 10–12 minutes. 6. add kale, cover, and let simmer another 5–10 mins, until rice is tender and kale is wilted. 7. top with fresh parsley and serve warm!
