CROCKPOT THANKSGIVING CIDER // spiked optional - that way everyone can get in one the fun! INGREDIENTS: 10 cups organic apple cider (just tastes better) 1/4 cup brown sugar 1 tsp whole cloves 3 star anise 5 cinnamon sticks 2-3 apples, sliced into rounds 2-3 oranges, sliced into quarter slices 1-1.5 cups fresh cranberries GARNISHES - quartered orange & apple slices, cranberries, cinnamon sticks, star anise INSTRUCTIONS: 1) Add all ingredients to a crockpot, stir and add lid. Cook on low for 2-3 hours. I like to put cloves and star anise in a metal tea ball to keep them from floating around in the cider. To set up bar - add garnishes to small bowls and lineup individual fireball shots (or your preferred mini liquor). When serving, fill glass 2/3 of the way full, add garnishes and flip opened fireball shot upside down into glass. As you drink, continue to pull up fireball bottle to add a little bit more liquor to the cocktail. That’s what OUR hamburger all about! #sliders #DinnerIdeas #dinnertime #partyfood #innout #EasyRecipe #footballseason #SuperBowl #superbowlparty #whatsfordinner #momof4 #boymomlife #boymom #Foodie #sandwich #burgers INGREDIENTS (makes 24 sliders, I doubled this recipe) 1 24 pack kings Hawaiian slider buns, cut down the middle Caramelized onions (1 white onion, chopped) 1.5 lbs ground beef Seasonings for beef - salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder 1.5 cup mayonnaise 3/4 cup Ketchup 1/4 cup mustard 2-3 big spoon fulls relish 1 tsp ish White vinegar 10 slices American chese 1/2 cup Melted butter Sesame seeds INSTRUCTIONS: 1) Preheat oven to 350. caramelize onions + brown ground beef on stove with with seasonings. To make animal spread - mix mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, relish, and white vinegar in a bowl. I really eyeballed this, measurements above are approximate so taste & adjust as needed. 2) On a baking sheet coated in non stick spray, lay down bottom layer of buns. Brush with butter, then add ground beef, American cheese slices, caramelized onions, animal spread, top layer of buns and then brush on remaining melted butter & sprinkled sesame seeds. Wrap in aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes or until tops are golden brown. Serve immediately and enjoy!

this last week has been one of the toughest of our lives - aside from everything happening on here. All 4 of our kids had a crazy sickness that knocked them out, one child woke up not able to breathe and had to be rushed into the hospital (he is ok), Jake had a procedure on his spine that he’s healing from and late Saturday night we found out that Jake’s grandpa would be passing soon. We planned on flying out to San Diego on Tuesday to spend thanksgiving with him because we knew he wasn’t doing well, but when we heard Saturday night the extent of it, plans changed. We left hoping to see him one last time, but we found out he passed as we were boarding the plane. We are all devastated, he was truly a one in a billion man. My heart finds peace in that he’s with Jesus now, and also reunited with Gretchen (Jake’s grandma, who had such an incredible impact on my life). You’ll be missed but I’ll be seeing you in every time Jake mimicks your dance moves or says holy macarole Andy or something about a cat on a hot tin roof. Every time I hear how great thou art, I’ll hear you singing it so loudly behind me in service. We love you more than we can put into words grandpa ❤️
