I've heard about this hike for years but I thought it was too hard for me to do. I'm hear today to tell you you can do this! It's 2.8 miles and 900 ft of elevation gain total, but there are benches to stop and rest at and there are alot of switchbacks so the elevation gain is moderate. I'm telling you this one is definitely worth the effort, please leave no trace and enjoy! 🙏🏾🙏🏾
I usually use this park as a place to train for the Manitou Incline, but it is sooooo much more than that. It almost literally has something for everyone, making it the best place to get a great workout in, go for a stroll, bring the kids, or have a picnic. Share this one with a friend and go check it out!
I had to take a couple weeks off to center myself but Im really happy to be back here. So many people only focus on the negative stuff that happens in Aurora but Aurora is more than the people, the government, the cops, and the crime. Aurora is where the plains meets the mountains, where the burrowing owls fly and the pronghorn play. Where eagles nest and beavers thrive. This is the Aurora I've come to love, thanks for checking it out with me. I hope you go to check it out for yourself.
Check out this place ASAP before the fees come (still free with the America the Beautiful Pass) or the water level rises which can wash out the spring. It can definitely get a little crowded but I got there at 9am on July 3rd and had over an hour to myself here! This is perfect place for large groups, a friend, or just some serene alone time. You have to check this place out!
Senator Mike Lee of Utah wants to sell OUR public lands—and unless your senators vote, no, they’re all realtors now, too. Lee’s amendment to the “Big Beautiful Bill” would sell off 3 million acres of Forest Service and BLM land. These aren’t just random spots. These are some of the most beautiful places in the world! Places like Ice Lakes or Greys and Torreys, Pikes Peak or Mount Blue Sky Once sold, we don’t get them back. Call your realtor (ehh..senators) TODAY and tell them to oppose public land sales in this bill—and every future one. Check out the link in my bio, tag your senators, and rally your friends to get involved. We’ve stopped land grabs before. We CAN do it again! Thanks, @OutdoorAlliance , for the map!
...Im not sure what my takeaway from this was....I was really anxious when I sat down to make this video but as I rewatched the clips of pronghorn running with pikes peak in the background I calmed down...Im glad it didn't go worse....took me a little while to process this but I think I would still call this a good day
If you forgot your reservation into Rocky Mountain National Park, dont worry, @YMCA of the Rockies has got you covered. You can park on their property and hike into Moraine Park or Sprague Lake. You still need a parks pass, but you dont need a timed entry reservation! You still have to follow park rules so leave the dogs at home, plus I saw a moose right on the trail but if youre looking to beat the traffic into the park, this might be the way to do it!
We're coming together for ONE unforgettable day at the YMCA of the Rockies - surrounded by elk, wild beauty, and Rocky Mountain National Park (yes, we're hiking in) When: May 10 1-6PM Where: @YMCA of the Rockies Why: Because public lands need our presence.
