Of course bebé came on Rudy’s birthday. 💥DISCLAIMER for future grandparents: Rudy’s actions will likely get you disowned. Please ensure you’re on excellent terms with your kids and have full consent from both parents before engaging in these shenanigans. 🙏🙌My husband and I are grateful for the incredible care we received throughout my pregnancy from the Yukon Midwifery program and Whitehorse General Hospital’s Maternity Unit team. #childbirth #labour #labouranddelivery #maternity #BirthStory
Come with me to my midwife appointment and post-appointment coffee while we talk about maternity health services in the Yukon. Spoiler alert- we have access to tremendous services and excellent people up here. #healthcare #maternitycare #labour #midwives
I’m so thankful for the big community of aunties and uncles I know are out there for bebe- but navigating online parenthood in 2025 is tough. We decided to keep bebe private while still sharing stories of parenthood. #online #parenthood #childhood
On the whole it was good night! They don’t always go this well! I think she was tired from all the adventures. *we didn’t name her Marigold but I love the name so it’s what we’ll refer to her as here ❤️ #newborn #nightroutine #camping
My husband and I had some important conversations before bebé arrived about how we’d like to navigate the online space with a child and respect their right to a childhood offline. Just like my husband (and mom!), who prefer not to be featured online- I’m happy to share my journey as a mum and our adventures as a family- but through my lens, and not with her (yes her) as a character. I think of it as the difference between telling you my story- and telling you hers. And of course i’ll continue to shamelessly exploit Rudy and his journey as a grandpa because he’s old enough and he loves it. Ok I hope that makes sense and that we can all make peace with that. #online #parenthood #childhood
📍on the traditional territory of the Carcross Tagish First Nation. 5 weeks into motherhood it was time to try our first family camping trip. It was really hard! When and how you start getting out there with a newborn has to depend a lot on your labor and delivery recovery, your newborn and what they can put up with, and the support you have from family and friends. We needed all three to align to get out 1.5h from home for two nights. High five to everyone who does what feels right for them! #camping #family #newborn
