Dumped Mama and Kittens Update! We have been searching day and night for the past 2 days in hopes of finding the missing Mama. During that time we have rescued 3 friendly kitties. 2 kittens and one adult female (not the mom from the original dumping video). The couple had threatened to dump more cats at the same location. We believe these cats were more than likely also dumped by them. We were contacted by the director of the City Shelter today who informed us that they are in contact with the DA about pressing charges. We are hopeful that this will come to fruition. We have named the adult female kitty Valley. Valley is currently at our vet for a full health check and spay surgery. We are heading back out to continue the search for Mama and set more traps. It has been a crazy couple of days searching for the Dumped Desert Cats and Kittens. We have gotten friendly cats and kittens every single day that we have gone out. This sweet kitten was spotted by Hena one of our volunteers on Monday. We were able to lure him out with food and he immediately leaned in for pets. We have reunited him with his siblings that we rescued on Sunday. These three cuties and Mama Valley are available for adoption! We had to say goodbye to our beautiful Bowie 💔 Our poor boy was FIV+, and extremely anemic when we rescued him. He also had a terribly ulcerated mouth. His initial bloodwork showed some slight elevations in his kidneys but nothing that was too concerning. We were able to have him make really good improvements in his appetite and his mouth and we were so optimistic about his recovery. When we went to give him breakfast this morning he wasn't himself. He didn't get up to greet me for pets and had a look in his eyes that broke my heart 💔 We rushed him to the vet before we even got our other rescues ready for Vet Day Friday. They had his results ready for us when after we dropped off the other kitties 💔 His kidneys had failed. We had to make the decision to let him go. Our Dr never recommends euthanasia and this time she did. We knew we had to do what was right for him. Bowie lived the last few weeks of his life extremely happy. He was an affectionate and loving little guy. He enjoyed relaxing on his memory foam bed, snacking on yummy wet food, and soaking in all the love and snuggles. We're so sorry that humans failed you. We love you Bowie

New Rescue Alert! We were messaged about some sick kittens that were living at a local Tire shop. We went out to rescue them. We ended up getting four kittens on our first attempt. We will be back out for TNR and more Rescue tomorrow (Thursday). While we were out we ended up meeting the tire shop owner who loves and cares for the local kitties. He along with the help of the apartment manager at the building behind them make sure all the cats and kittens get food and water daily. These cuties will be available for preadoption soon.
